When a snoek run is experienced up to 140 boats are sometimes launched during the early hours of the morning. The breakwater has recently been upgraded to further improve launch conditions.

A fish market at the town entrance is available to facilitate all trading activities for the commercial fishing boats, and is equipped to accomodate all boat-cleaning and parking requirements. Entry for recreational users is included in the harbour tariff.

Fuel and lubricants are available at the local petrol garage from 07h00 till 20h00. Bait in the form of frozen pilchards, Japanese pike and white mussels are readily available from the local traders. Tackle is also available from most of the local stores.
